A man is sitting in jail for killing his girlfriend’s puppy—because she wouldn’t answer the phone.
Officers were alerted to a possible domestic disturbance Thursday night at 1121 Mazatlan Circle. When they arrived, a distraught woman told them that her live-in boyfriend has killed her puppy after the couple had a fight. The fight had been verbal, not physical, and the woman had left the house after fighting in order to “cool-off.” Her boyfriend, Christopeher Blackstone, tried texting her multiple times while she was gone, with every text going unanswered while the angry girlfriend tried to calm down.
After being ignored, Blackstone decided to kill his girlfriend’s puppy to retaliate. He texted her Friday morning informing her of what he did; she raced home and found her puppy’s body inside a nearby dumpster.
Blackstone has been arrested on charges of cruelty to animals and harassment. A charge of felony criminal mischief was added when he kicked a police vehicle, damaging it.
